Have a strong sense of identity

Are connected and contribute to their world

Nursery
0 – 12 Months
The nursery is a nurturing space for the youngest children of the centre. Care is extremely individualised in this space, with our educators following any established routines or care giving rituals from home.
In our nursery, our educators focus on building secure and reciprocal relationships with children, to support feelings of safety and security. Our nursery curriculum looks slightly different to other rooms, with a focus on care giving and providing an enriching environment for infants to explore.

Toddlers
12 Months – 2 Years
Our toddler room provides care for children anywhere from 12 months through to 2 years. This room is centered around supporting this special age group as they begin to express their independence.
In our toddler room, our educators focus on supporting and enhancing the children’s natural curiosity for learning through exploration and thoughtfully curated experiences. Our toddler curriculum involves lots of active play for these active little learners who are often developing their gross motor abilities.

Juniors
2 – 3 Years
Our juniors room caters for children aged 2-3 years and focuses on supporting the huge thinking, learning, social, and emotional changes that occur as this age group explores the world around them.
In our junior’s space, our educators focus on supporting children as they begin to explore the social world and as their play moves from a solitary stage into a more cooperative stage. The curriculum often has more group games and play, to facilitate this change in awareness and play.

Pre-Kindy
3 – 4 Years
Our pre kindy room caters for children aged 3-4 years. Our curriculum is specifically designed to cater for this age group, recognising the leap in language and social development that occurs during this time.
In the pre-kindy space, our educators focus on providing a secure base for children to learn to negotiate social situations and develop emotional capacity and resilience as they begin to understand the complex world of themselves and others.

Kindy
4 – 5 Years
Our Kindy room provides care for children aged 4-5 years. The curriculum is based on the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and is centered around preparing children for their transition to school.
In our Kindergarten room, our educators work with children to develop the necessary skills for school and life success. This includes continuing to support emotional capacity and understanding social situations, as well as the daily incorporation of early literacy, science and mathematics.

We understand that leaving your child at childcare for the first time can feel overwhelming and emotional. It’s completely natural to have concerns and worries about how your child will adjust and whether they will be happy and well-cared for in your absence.
However, we want to reassure you that our Educators at Giggletree Early Education are experienced professionals who genuinely care about your child’s well-being. Below are some tips to help the first day of care go as smoothly as possible.
- Backpack/bag to store personal belongings
- Hat (one is supplied on enrolment)
- Sheet set (provided to you on enrolment)
- Two spare sets of clothes. More may be required if your child is toilet learning.
- Drink bottle with water
- Any comfort items that support your child throughout the day
On enrolment you will receive a hat & t-shirt for your child/ren as well as a sheet set that you can bring to kindy for rest time.
It’s best to allow extra time on your first drop off, to familiarise yourself with the signing in/out process and to get to know where to put your child’s belongings. It’s also nice to leave a little extra time to settle your child in with their Educators before you leave.
This will not only show your child you trust their carer, but also support them to familiarise themselves with their new Educators and get to know the new faces that will be caring for them while you’re away.
It’s extremely important that you say goodbye to your child before you leave each day, as this prevents anxious attachments and lets your child know what to expect. Sometimes this may mean that your child becomes upset. Know that this is a completely normal and natural reaction to their parent/guardian leaving, but that often children settle down once their family has left. Other times your child may be happy for you to leave – this is also a completely normal response as they enter a new and exciting space to explore.
Our Educators will touch base with you during their first day, to let you know how your child is settling, but you’re free to call and contact us as many times as you wish. You can also check Storypark for any updates and speak to our friendly team to see what is happening at the centre.
